Foul play has been ruled out in the death of a Poplar man.
Clifford Country, 38, was found deceased at the Herman Red Elk residence in Poplar Sunday, April 25, 2020.
Country is Red Elks step-son, and he was staying at his step-dads at the time of his death. He was trying to quit alcohol abuse in the days leading up to his death and was having health issues up until the end, Red Elk said.
Tribal Criminal Investigator Kenny Trottier responded to the call, and though the exact cause of death is not known, there were no signs of any foul play or suspicious. The death is ruled as natural causes related from cirrhosis.
