A Washington man accused of importing fentanyl to the Fort Peck Indian Reservation is facing federal charges.

Porter James Hudshon, 23, of Tacoma, Wash., was arraigned in Great Falls Federal Court on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and distribution of fentanyl.

If convicted of the most serious crime, Hudshon faces a mandatory minimum five years to 40 years in prison, a $5 million fine and at least four years of supervised release. Hudshon was detained pending further proceedings.

The FBI, U.S. Postal Service, Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Peck Tribes Law and Justice Department and Bremerton, Washington, Police Department investigated the case.
