All death notices that appear on this newspaper website are edited for consistency by assistant editors of the Tribal Times News.
Death notices written in the Times standard format will be printed at no charge. Only factual information will be used, such as the cause of death. If a person dies of suicide, the cause of death will be listed as “died as suicide,” or “killed himself/herself.” Relatives of the dead, including the list of surviving relatives will be limited to: spouse, children and siblings, and the number of grandchildren.
The Tribal Times News requires verification of death. Obituaries should be submitted through a funeral home, or must include the name and phone number of the funeral home that is serving the family, or a copy of the death certificate.
Unedited death notices can be published, for a fee. Payment must be received before publication.
All obituaries can include a photo. Members of the U.S. Armed Forces also will receive a flag.
